Georgia May Foote's romance with Giovanni Pernice might have come to an end, but she will still be rooting for him when the new series of Strictly gets underway. The Coronation Street actress has taken to Twitter to share a message of support for Giovanni and his celebrity partner Laura Whitmore in response to reports she is concerned they might strike up a new romance on the show.
"Good luck to all the @bbastrictly 2016 cast and crew on their launch show tonight! Sending all my love! I'm sure it's going to be incredible," she wrote. "And I would just like to wish @thewhitmore and @pernicegiovann1 good luck. Please don't believe the c*** you read. She's a beautiful person."
Georgia May Foote and Giovanni Pernice split in August after dating for nearly a year
Georgia and Giovanni dated for a year after meeting on the BBC dance programme. A source had told the Sun that the 25-year-old had fears over Giovanni and Laura's pairing. "Georgia knows just how intimately the couples have to dance and is terrified that Giovanni might hook up with Laura," the insider claimed. "She is devastated that they are no longer together and struggling with the thought of Giovanni getting up close and personal with a friend of hers."
Last month, Georgia admitted she was anxious about seeing then-boyfriend Giovanni dance with other women. "Of course I'll get jealous" she said. "Whoever gets Giovanni gets it a very lucky girl. He's a great teacher."

Georgia and Giovanni confirmed their split at the end of August, issuing a joint statement that said they were moving forward as "friends".
Georgia May Foote has wished the Strictly pair good luck
"It is with great sadness we have decided to split up," it read. "There is nobody else involved. Although it was not an easy decision to make sometimes you realize that it is better to be friends and this is one of those times. We both have very busy work schedules for the rest of the year so we are both going to focus on our upcoming work projects and we wish each other well for the future."
Following her message of support at the weekend, Georgia also took to Twitter on Monday to wish her ex a happy birthday. "Happy birthday @pernicegiovann1 x," she tweeted shortly after midnight to ensure she was one of the first to send her well wishes.
